Home Again

We are home! With our little Guardian Angel a bit tattered...LOL Dalven decided to drive home on I-95 thru Harlem and the Bronx... so not fun!!

Anywhooo... on with our day at the Crayola Factory!! Here is the entrance. I thought it was a pretty good pic with the angle and all... I thought it looks like the crayons really are falling!

And here are the boys posing for me just inside! They were soooo excited!!

Okay, I am tired. I will post more tomorrow... there are plenty of pics to share. We did a lot of things there!!

Tigglie said...: Ok its my turn to run away for a day now right. LOL! I am so glad you got out and had a little fun. The boys look like they were having a blast. But now you need a nap just to recover from the trip right. lol We are all doing well here. The little ones will go see Mom and Dad tomorrow and then starts my crazy weekend. 1 wedding and 1 funeral,in the same day. I can only hope that my little ones don't melt. and that we do not upset every one by wearing PINK! they want us to wear red, white or silver. Kid Speak

Riley....
We were talking about our freebie day at Sea World, and talking about Shamu. Riley kept trying to say Shamu and couldn't (not sure why....) but it kept coming out Sha-ma-mu.... it was really funny....

Braden....
Now that the boys know about the new baby, Braden has been adding to his nightly prayers... "and please blesss mommy to not get too fat from the baby." Not sure what he is thinking with this one...

Riley....
We were able to go with Niffer to dinner Sunday evening. Riley had Mac n cheese with a side of Mandarin Oranges. Braden wanted to know why they were in water. I told him it was not water, but a juice. So, I teased Riley "what else would it be? It's orange juice! Your Mandarin oranges were in orange juice." Then he wanted to know what girl oranges were served in? (Dalven had to explain this one to me.... Do YOU get it??) MAN-darin?? --

Braden...
We were sitting at KFC the other day, and Dalven snuck a piece of popcorn chicken off Braden's plate -- and got caught! Braden looked at daddy and said "If you had asked for it I would have offered you some." This boy's vocabulary scares me some day.... (today at Sea Port -- "Perhaps we should go over here....") PERHAPS???

Braden...
The boys are taking the art class, and the very first day, their teacher taught them a technique called "Blind Contouring". It is a technique that is supposed to help them learn to train their hand to draw what the brain "sees". Any way, we picked up Daddy at lunch time and he asked the boys what they did today for art class. Braden pips up and says, "well, we started with Flying Condors". Close enough, right??

Riley...
We were getting ready for bed, and Braden was not cooperating (big shock) and Daddy was getting after him. Riley kept trying to get Daddy's attention. "Daddy, stop using the big voice." And then he clarified for us- "You know, like on Chicken Little?"

Riley....
In art class, the kids have been learning about primary colors and how to mix to get the secondary colors. The day after art class, he was playing on the computer and one of the characters he was playing on Hot Wheels, had on a outfit that was Yellow, Red, and Blue. He gets all excited and says, "Look mom!! It's the church colors!!" I was a bit confused at first, and asked him what he ment- "You know, red, yellow and blue! Church colors." Yup-- he is right, primary=church... so I guess they are now church colors!!

Riley....
Daddy had duty and when he came home the next day, Riley had a picture ready for him. It was a bright yellow crayon scribble. He handed it to daddy telling him it was for him to take to the doctor with him to be brave. I told him that daddy was not seeing the doctor today, that mommy was. Riley took the picture from daddy and handed it to me, starting his speach over "I made it for you to be brave at the doctors..." Dalven and I just about fell off the chairs laughing.

Braden...
We went and got the boys hair cuts done Wednesday. When the guy cutting Braden's hair was almost done, Braden looked in the mirror and said to himself, "Helloooo Handsome!!"
You should have seen Mr. Mark laugh!

Riley....
We were talking the night before the first tee ball practice. Riley told me I could sit in the highest chair (meaning the top of the stadium) and he would hit the ball to me for a Home Run. Well, first off, we were not at a stadium, 2nd of all, there isn't even bleachers...He thinks he is Babe Ruth!! :o) That's my boy!!

Riley.....
He tried to call Grammie Chuckie today and she didn't answer and neither did the machine. He got really upset and said in the most pitiful, whiney voices ever, "Why does she keep doing this to me? She never answeres when I call!" (she didn't the last time he called either). I told him that we would tell Grammie she is in trouble when we do talk to her. His response, "No." When I asked him why, he said "Cuz she is your mom." What a boy....

Braden....
The boys were running around outside and from the story I got, Riley pushed Braden and he fell. Well, the grass was wet, which in turn got his sweat pants wet. Well, he howled all the way in the house and upstairs to go change. On his way back downstairs, he said, "Mom, we need to have a yard sale tomorrow so we can sell Riley."

Riley...
Dalven had duty Sunday, and at 3 am (Monday dark morning...) Riley tried to crawl in bed with me to sleep on daddy's pillow. I told him he needed to get back in his own bed. Even at 3 am this boy is a suck up... "but momma, I just wanted to come give you a hug and a kiss..." So he did... and went back to his own bed. As much as I love him, if he could have waited about 5 more hours.... I think I would have appreiceated it more!!

Braden....
Daddy goes in each night when we go to bed and wakes (or tries) to check if they need to get up and use the bathroom. He kept asking Braden, and nudging him to get him awake enough to ask. Finally, Braden rolled over and said "I'm trying to sleep, Dad." We guessed he didn't have to go....

Riley....
A few days ago, Riley told me that the alphabet starts with "a" and I agreed. I asked if he could spell "alphabet" and he said yes..."a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i........" I laughed and laughed.... tooo funny!

Braden.....

Dalven and Braden sat together during Sacrament Meeting... Braden was actually READING the words to one of the Hymns and singing with his daddy.... I Need Thee Every Hour.
